Alabamians that end up on the west side of Hurricane Isaias may think they will be “safe” from high winds. But the National Weather Service in Mobile said that may not be the case. Forecasters were warning those in south Alabama, especially Mobile and Baldwin counties, to stay on guard for potential high winds from Isaias.

Areas near the landfall point in Florida, including Destin and Crestview, got an estimated 6-8 inches of rain from Isaias, according to the weather service. Alabama coastal areas got much less. Mobile got a half-inch to 1 inch from the storm.
